ATHENS – On Thursday evening, the Greek People’s Unity held a public rally in support of Venezuela in front of the Greek Parliament building, attended by dozens of supporters of the initiative. The party’s leader, Kostas Isichos, emphasized during his speech: “Freedom for Maduro and his wife! Hands off Venezuela!”

As the leader of the Greek People’s Unity, Konstantinos Isichos, made clear his firm stance against foreign interference in Venezuelan politics and criticized the violation of the country’s sovereignty, including attempts to obtain strategic raw materials. The participants in the rally categorically rejected any foreign intervention and stressed that Venezuela has the right to independently decide on its economy and political development. “We will continue to protest and exert political pressure on the US and its actions,” Isichos said, appealing to the international community to respect Venezuela’s right to its own path of development. The event ended with a call for unity and solidarity with the Venezuelan people.
